After you get your wisdom teeth removed, can there be skin discoloration on the inside of your lip?

I know that you sometimes get skin discoloration on your checks and neck, and I have a little bit of this too, but can you get it on the inside of your mouth too? I have a red patch on the inside of my lip and it is almost right where the skin discoloration is on my cheek, but it is red and on the inside and it doesn't hurt or anything. I occasionally chew tobacco too, but I don't think I have done it enough times to have developed any types of skin disease or anything like that. I'm hoping that it is just from the wisdom teeth surgery but I want to be sure because I am a little concerned about it.
