Bearded dragon's beard is turning gray/black one spike at a time,?

my bearded dragon is a 1 year old female dragon. and her beard is just starting to turn kinda black. just onle spike at a time. someone told me its just dry skin but i dont think it is. shes fine other then that. its just her spikes on the left and right of her head look dead. help me out!
